How to Win with Citizen Dev & Microsoft's Power Platform

Submitted by Phil Simpson

Talk Abstract:

According to Gartner, who coined the phrase, a “Citizen Developer is a user who creates new business applications for consumption by others using development and runtime environments sanctioned by corporate IT.” At its core, it’s someone who steps in to solve a business problem, what we used to call a Power User.

Left to sprawl out of control, low-code & no-code tools can become an administrative and security nightmare of Shadow IT. However, it doesn’t have to be this way and there are a number of steps we can take to help bring real value to our organisations.

In this session, I will run you through the steps I have taken to make a success of my firm’s low-code toolset and to demonstrate the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit, the Microsoft supported community tooling which takes the pain out of administrating, governing and nurturing their business applications platform.
